Ford Amazon Partnership Brings in-car deliveries to Chicago
By: Matthew Zaiff
Ford Motor Co announced Tuesday that they’ve partnered with tech behemoth, Amazon. The partnership means that Prime members can get packages delivered to their cars while they are away.
By linking Amazon Prime accounts with the FordPass or Lincoln Way apps, delivery drivers will be able to securely access a customer’s vehicle to make a delivery.
Once the delivery is completed, customers will receive a notification on their smartphone.
This service is offered on connectivity enabled Fords from 2017 onward and all 2018 and newer Lincoln models.
For weary customers, delivery drivers are required to double-check the door handle before departing to make sure the car is locked.
Ford also announced in an effort to simplify their customer’s lives, that FordPass users can now schedule carwashes from vendors such as Spiffy, Rub A Dub and Sparkl where available.
